What is supervision and why is this important?

The aim of supervision is to provide good support to those working as chaplains, pastoral carers, Pastors and leaders as well as those working in any agencies in the community.

Supervision also has the potential to assist with personal and professional development. It is a great way to engage with a qualified person in reflective practice, self care and transformative learning. Meeting with someone every one to two months in a safe, supportive and confidential space is valuable to our health and growth as professional carers.

How can I find a supervisor?

CNZ is happy to recommend the following people are available as supervisors. Please contact them through their email should you wish to follow this up.

Pat Lamborn

I have been involved in fulltime and part-time pastoral ministry for nearly 30 years in a variety of pastoral and Church leadership roles and during this time have gained much experience in pastoral & ministry supervision, mentoring, and coaching.  My roles have included being an associate and senior pastor, AGNZ national executive member and the AGNZ national mission’s facilitator.

My professional qualifications and training are the areas of Church ministry and leadership, theology, and Professional Supervision.  I have also greatly benefited from good supervision personally and am committed to participating in ongoing professional supervision & coaching for my growth and ministry development.
